Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. develops leaders, promotes brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities. The year, 2020 has been unique with unprecedented challenges and concerns. As we continue to deal with Coronavirus (COVID-19) we must challenge ourselves to think innovatively and to be accepting of the fluidity of change that the pandemic has forced upon each of us.

With that being said, the District of South Carolina has planned to conduct a virtual conference and execute the business of the South Carolina Chapters of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. The 60th Annual District Conference will convene under the theme, The Urgency of Now: Black Men Vote and Uplift Our Communities, October 2-3, 2020. According to the U.S. Census, 6.2 million black men voted out of the 8 million who were eligible, which means 1.8 million black men failed to exercise their right to vote. On all levels of our Fraternity, we must take the lead in voter mobilization, voter protection, political engagement and support the elected officials who have an unwavering commitment to the issues of our communities. This must be a priority for the black community and especially for black men.

During this District Conference, we will meet the candidates for the office of Southern Regional Vice President, conduct the business of Alpha and cast our votes for the 11th District Director of this great District.
